Shiatsu is a Japanese form of body work. Like acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine it is based on the classical theories of Chinese medicine. Using palms, thumbs, forearms, knees and feet (or whole body) we disperse areas of tension and support/tonify areas of weakness.

This type of body work focuses on harmonising 'energy lines' called meridians, which, from a Chinese medicine perspective relate to the different organs. They are also associated with various physical, emotional, mental and spiritual functions.

Shiatsu is a powerful healing art that is used to treat various ailments or can simply be enjoyed for deep relaxation.

The European Shiatsu School runs Foundation Courses for 3 months and a 3 year Shiatsu Professional Training Course (Practitioner Diploma) held at the Brighton Natural Health Centre. For further information or to secure your place visit www.shiatsu.net or call 0773 194 7071.
