contemporary 2Contemporary Dance is an energetic dance form that incorporates travel and fluid movement sequences. The genre of Contemporary Dance is an energetic, exciting one that includes many different styles. It encourages greater use of the body’s natural abilities – breath, internal energy, its relationship with gravity – to create fluid movement. There is a strong emphasis on the connection between mind and body.

There is a structured warm-up that leads into sequences exploring dynamics such as weight, suspension and rebound.

Here at the BNHC the main style of teaching is Cunningham and Release based.

Individual class drop-ins are also allowed for £8.50 (£7.50 conc) if space. No class cards accepted.
 

Courses and workshops can be booked online – just click the button where shown. Drop-in classes cannot be booked online – just pay at the start of the class – no pre-booking required. Concession rates (conc.) must be booked in person at the centre with proof of concession status.
