working with the mind and emotions
for health and longevity
with Peter Deadman ARCHIVE
This event has now taken place
Friday 29 May 2015, 6.30-8pm
In the Chinese nourishment of life (yangsheng) tradition, regulation of the mind and emotions comes first. This is both because disordered and chaotic emotions directly cause disease, and because without a still centre and the ability to cherish ourselves, we are unable to cultivate positive health behaviours. This presentation will cover what the yangsheng tradition teaches about the mind and emotions, how excess of the harmful emotions injures the body and how we can learn to gain some control over our feelings, cultivate positive emotional states and expand our consciousness. Peter will draw on his ongoing work on a new book ‘Live Well, Live Long’ and will reference both classical Chinese sources and comprehensive modern lifestyle research.
