Co-operatives: The way forward for successful and ethical business
by Dex Bailey ARCHIVEinfinity logodex bailey

This event has now taken place

What exactly is a co-operative? How does it differ from other business models? Where and why did co-operatives first start to surface? What place is there for co-operatives in our world today? Could co-operatives be a viable alternative to the problems that continuously seem to surface in the corporate world?

Dex Bailey has worked at Infinity Foods Workers Co-operative for many years. His first experience of co-ops was at the age of nine in a young people’s club set up by the Portsea Island Mutual Co-operative Society. As a teenager he moved into a housing co-op and several years later he and some friends formed a housing co-op in Brighton. Dex's talk will discuss the history of co-operatives, suggest how they can offer viable solutions to current challenges, and explore what he has learned from being closely connected to co-ops for so much of his life.
