Kate Szkolar

Kate trained at London Contemporary Dance School (LCDS), where she worked with the likes of Marc Brew, Richard Alston, Jeannie Steele (Merce Cunningham Company) and Hofesh Shechter. During her final year with LCDS, Kate toured with the graduating company 'LC3', in which she performed her own choreography as well as existing repertoire. Kate spent four months dancing in Hawaii, performing at the Honolulu Arts District Festival and the University of Hawaii's 'Footfalls'.

Since graduating from LCDS, Kate danced for Puppik Dance Company; performing at venues around the South East including The Showroom Theatre (Chichester University), The Point (Eastleigh) and The Place (for Resolution! 2011). Kate has also engaged in short-term performance projects, the most recent being with Holly
Blakey for the Sssh Boom arts festival. Kate now choreographs and dances for penny & jules dance company; a Brighton-based Contemporary dance company with Lisa Gillam.

As well as her regular technique classes at BNHC, Kate has also delivered ad hoc workshops and technique classes for West Sussex Youth Dance Company, Brighton, Hove and Sussex Sixth Form College, and for local GCSE dance teachers in the Worthing area.
